This farm-fresh version of an old-fashioned cocktail combined the zingy flavor of ginger and the color and sweetness of beet juice - just a little to keep it low FODMAP.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces (1/4 cup/60 ml) lemon juice
  • 2 ounces (1/4 cup/60 ml) whisky
  • 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) ginger Simple Syrup
  • 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) water
  • ¾ ounce (about 23 ml) beet juice
  • Ice

Preparation:

  1. Pour all of the ingredients into a shaker, add ice, shake like crazy and strain into two old-fashioned glasses.

  2. Enjoy! And drink responsibly.

Tips

  • Learn to make Simple Syrup and you will always have a quick-to-dissolve sweetener on hand for your cold drinks.
