A TikTok clip turned up on X on Wednesday with no name and no date attached, and it opens on a woman on the phone with the police. The person filming her is her daughter, who says the call is about her.
Then the daughter turns the camera on herself. She is 24, she says, and what she has just filmed is “a preface of what I’m about to tell you.” She is sitting in front of a window with a pink curtain, and she talks for about a minute and a half. By the end of it she is crying into her hand.
Her mother, she says, has been the most evil person to her for her entire life. “And I’m not gonna act like I haven’t done nothing to her. I’ve done a lot, specifically because of how she always treated me.”

What happened the night before
She had found a room for rent, and she had told her mother she hoped to have it finalized by August. The night before she filmed, she texted to say it had slipped. Her mother’s reply, as she tells it, was that someone else was already moving into the room in August. “But I never told you that that was the day I was moving out,” she says, talking to her mother through the lens. “It was really up in the air.”
Her mother told her to go. She agreed, and asked for her things. Her suitcases and storage cubes were in her mother’s room, behind a locked door, and when she asked for them, her mother argued with her. She’d been told to leave and couldn’t get to the things she needed to do it.

“The typical Caribbean woman”
She won’t go into specifics about the years before this. What she gives instead is one description. Her mother, she says, is “the typical Caribbean woman who is male-centered” and “has no regard for her own children.” That, she says, is the best way she can put it.
She knows what it costs to say that into a camera. “I’m 24 years old, so it definitely got to the point where I’m even embarrassed to speak about this,” she says. She says it anyway.
She also explains why she stayed. “This lady has done so much evil to me throughout my life and I still try to hold it down and let it go because I don’t have nobody else. I don’t have nothing else.”
“Simply for being upset”
“Today she decided to call the police,” she says, “and she’s trying to get me arrested simply for being upset by how she’s always treated me my entire life. “That is her account of the phone call the clip opened with. Her mother is visible, but her version of events is not.
“I will not be quiet at this time,” she says. “I will not be silenced.” She covers her face and cries, and for a few seconds that’s all there is.
“I’m not gonna die”
The clip reached X through an account posting as @chickyxime, whose caption ended with a question: “How does something like this actually happen between a mother and her own daughter?” Within the hour it had been reposted more than 300 times.
She finishes looking straight at the camera. “I’m posting this on TikTok to let everybody know that I’m getting left for dead. But I promise you I’m not gonna die. “Then: “We’ll see how this journey goes.”
The clip ends there, with her things still in her mother’s room, by her account, and the police already called.
