I’m not saying you need to carry around a gallon of water everywhere you go; for healthy individuals, the average daily water intake is about 15.5 cups for men and 11.5 cups for women. Also, don’t wait until you’re thirsty—by then, you might already be behind. Small tip: carry a reusable water bottle to make it easier.

Mind your stress levels

We all get stressed out from time to time, but it’s essential to manage stress to keep your blood pressure in check. Chronic stress can seriously impact your heart, making your blood pressure spike. 

Try to incorporate relaxation into your daily routine, whether that’s through meditation, yoga, or just sitting quietly for a few minutes. If you’re constantly on the go, set a timer to remind yourself to pause and breathe deeply. Trust me, a few minutes of calm each day can do wonders for both your mind and your blood pressure.

Limit alcohol intake

A drink or two can be relaxing, but too much alcohol can definitely mess with your blood pressure. Drinking excessively raises your blood pressure and can damage your heart over time.

If you enjoy your nightly glass of wine, it’s fine to indulge once in a while, but moderation is key. FYI, experts recommend limiting alcohol to one drink per day for women and two for men. So, before you crack open that second bottle, remember—your heart is watching!
