There Are People Who Don’t Drink Caffeine?

Among the surveyed U.S. adults, 68% of non-caffeine drinkers acknowledge its potential impact on their sleep, while 40% of caffeine consumers agree. Coffee is the preferred choice for 51% of respondents, followed by soda (28%), tea (10%), and energy drinks (7%). Those who primarily drink tea are more likely to get recommended sleep, with 75% achieving it.

The timing of caffeine intake matters. Caffeine has a half-life ranging from 3 to 7 hours, affecting sleep quality. Moderation in quantity and timing is key to avoiding sleep disturbances. Some individuals, like Steve Depew, have adapted by consuming half-caffeinated coffee in the morning to maintain alertness without sacrificing sleep.

Of the surveyed individuals, 68% of non-caffeine drinkers believe it affects their sleep, compared to 40% of caffeine consumers. However, sleep problems are more prevalent among caffeine drinkers, with 35% experiencing daytime sleepiness and 31% reporting insomnia, compared to 27% and 22% in non-drinkers.
