Low FODMAP Quick Breads.

Quick breads rely on baking powder and baking soda for leavening action. They are even easier to make than most cookies, because you can often whip up the batter without a mixer, the mixture is scraped into one pan, and you’re done – often in the time it takes for the oven to preheat!

We have all your favorites – all low FODMAP, and gluten-free, too. We even have a few soda breads, lower fat, reduced sugar, and vegan breads…let’s bake!

What Makes a Quick Bread Low FODMAP?

As with any low FODMAP recipe, the ingredients must be low FODMAP, per serving. All of FODMAP Everyday® recipes are developed by a Monash University trained and FODMAP Friendly Accredited professional recipe developer and based upon evidence-based science.

As always, the recipes are developed, tested and presented as you see them here. Any substitutions will alter the recipe, usually not for the better. In addition, any changes made to a low FODMAP recipe means you have to recalculate the FODMAP load of the final recipe yourself.

You could try egg substitutes, such as chia or flax eggs, or Ener G Egg Replacer, but we do not guarantee great results.

We like low FODMAP quick breads as a snack, or for breakfast, but they are also perfect for bake sales, and school and office parties.

Are All Loaf Pans The Same?

No, you will see that some recipes call for an 8-inch by 4-inch (20 cm by 10 cm) pan, while some call for 9-inch by 5-inch (23 cm by 12 cm). They hold very different volumes. Use the pan called for.

You can see the two pans below, smaller 8-inch (20 cm) on the left. I prefer this dimension as it yields a taller, square shape, which I find appealing.
