Ground turkey should be a fridge staple in your house as it is in ours. We love ground beef, but sometimes we want an alternative, either for its flavor or sometimes because it is leaner. We have 7 ground turkey recipes for you that take you way beyond burgers – but we have those too, and we show you how to make them super juicy.

Turkey Chili with Winter Squash & Beans

Lean ground turkey doesn’t bring as much “oomph” in flavor and texture as ground beef, but the bold flavors of chili allow it to shine. This turkey chili version adds moist and flavorful winter squash and black beans along with oregano, smoked paprika, cumin, chili powder, in addition to bell peppers, scallions, leeks and more moisture in flavor is added with chicken or turkey stock and cans of diced tomatoes. Get the recipe for Turkey Chili with Winter Squash & Beans.

Turkey Burgers

How do you make turkey burger juicy? We have a few easy tricks, but none of them call for hard to find ingredients, and they yield fantastic results. Okay, the “tricks” involve egg, and you are going to bathe them in butter and garlic-infused oil for maximum moisture and flavor. Get the recipe for Turkey Burgers.

Turkey Meatballs

Spaghetti and meatballs is a classic comfort food dish, but sometimes it is a heavier dish. Using ground turkey lightens it up. You might be inspired to make meatballs more often. These meatballs are fantastic with tomato sauce and spaghetti, of course, but you can also stuff them in to a hero or submarine sandwich. Get the recipe for Turkey Meatballs.

Turkey Shepherd’s Pie

Classic shepherd’s pie uses ground lamb, but we use ground turkey and add root vegetables like parsnips and carrots to the filling, along with green beans and zucchini. This casserole is topped with a thick layer of creamy mashed potatoes. This is comfort food to the max. Serve with a green salad along side with a tangy vinaigrette. Get the recipe for Turkey Shepherd’s Pie.

Turkey Meatloaf with Mushrooms & Roasted Red Pepper Ketchup

Turkey and oyster mushrooms, scallions and carrots make our turkey meatloaf super moist – and yet, it is as easy as dumping everything into a bowl, mixing, shaping your loaf and throwing it in the oven. I have included a Roasted Red Pepper Ketchup, which goes on top of the meatloaf before it goes in the oven and is also served alongside. It is an extra step but you will see that it is very easy and incredibly tasty. The Muir Glen fire roasted tomatoes add a smokiness and depth that we just love. Get the recipe for Turkey Meatloaf with Mushrooms & Roasted Red Pepper Ketchup.
