6 Fabulous, Crunchy Low FODMAP Snacks
If you are a texture nut like me, here are 6 Fabulous, Crunchy Low FODMAP Snacks you might want to add to your repertoire!
I am a snacker and always have been. Eating low FODMAP was not going to change that!
Now, for me, my body doesn’t mind grazing throughout the day. Your GI system might be different. Some folks respond much better to having hours between their meals without food intake. Always follow your own tolerances and needs.
Hankering For A Crunchy Snack?
If you are a snacker like me, I think you will like these a lot.
These are a popped-corn snack. They are small, thin and triangular, reminiscent of tortilla chips. There is a simple Sea Salt version, but I LOVE the sweet and salty Kettle Corn version. It has just four ingredients! Yellow corn, sunflower oil, evaporated cane sugar and sea salt. PopCorners are non-GMO and gluten-free. They have several other flavors and many contain onion and/or garlic and/or dairy, so read the labels!
Snyder’s Gluten-Free Pretzels
These are my very favorite low FODMAP and gluten-free pretzel. They come in small traditional twisted pretzel shapes, as well as small, thin sticks and recently they added long, thick rods, which are what I have been waiting for! They are crunchy, satisfying, always fresh and crispy and I highly recommend them. I like to scoop up my tuna fish lunch with them.
Creative Snacks Almond Clusters
Sort of like a nut-based granola, but different. These are a nut-based snack that is easy to eat out-of-hand and there are several low FODMAP flavors. I am partial to the Cranberry & Cacao Nib, and the Chia, Hemp, Pumpkin & Sunflower Seed. There are some that are heavy on cashews, so steer clear of those. Delicious as part of a yogurt parfait!
Creative Snacks Coconut Clusters
Made by the same Creative Snacks company mentioned above, but these crunchy clusters are based on coconut. Look for the Chia, Sunflower Seed & Pumpkin Seed flavor.
There are several brands that offer these crunchy, munchable cheese snacks, but Moon Cheese was the first brand we became familiar with. These are pure cheese! Just freeze-dried. We suggest using the same 40 g serving size that Monash suggests per serving. They have Cheddar, Gouda and Pepper Jack! Easy to pack, too.
I don’t know about you but our market’s shelves are jam packed with a huge selection of corn chips. We love Late July brand and their regular Thin & Crispy Sea Salt ones are great but have you tried the Sea Salt & Lime? Or the Chia & Quinoa? Both are low FODMAP crunchy fabulousness. They are non-GMO, gluten-free, organic, vegan and processed in a peanut-free facility. Try them in our Salad Nachos recipe, or simply serve with a fresh salsa.
